Ovulation cycle

Ovulation cycle, otherwise called as menstrual cycle is the series of changes that occur in female for sexual reproduction. The ovulation cycle occurs every month and it is during this time that the eggs are produced and the uterus prepares for pregnancy. The length of the cycle may vary from 25 to 35 days but the average length is 28 days. Many hormonal changes taking place inside the fertile female body is the reason for menstruation.

The ovulation cycle starts from the first day of bleeding in the current month to the previous day of next month’s bleeding. Usually, the bleeding will last for 5 to 6 days based on age and many other factors. The 14th day from the last day of the menstrual cycle is the most fertile day for the women. Ovulation occurs during this day and the chances of a female getting pregnant are maximum on that day.

Looking For Ovulation Signs

I have always wanted at least three children. But now I am 27 years old and still have none. It's not that I haven't tried, my husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for over a year, but no luck. We have done all sorts of tests, but everything seems to be in order, I guess that maybe it's just our timing that is a little off.

I visited my doctor again yesterday and she told me about some ovulation signs that I should look out for to know when I'm most fertile. She told me to measure my body temperature in the morning and also in the afternoon. It it is higher than normal, it should be the right time. She also said that I might feel that my breasts are more tender and that I have a bigger sexual appetite on the day of ovulation.

I will measure my temperature next month as well as look out for other signs, I really hope it works. If I still won't get pregnant, I think I will try out some of those ovulation test kits, can't hurt. I would never have thought that getting pregnant can be so tough, hopefully I will be expecting in a month or two.

When is a woman the most fertile

A woman is most fertile somewhere in the middle of a menstrual cycle. Sometimes this is visible from the outside, because the increased vaginal secretions. The fertile period is called the period of ovulation. Identifying fertile days or pregnancy In determining fertile days, and the timing of ovulation, helpful can be menstrual calendars, whose purpose is not only to determine the fertile days, but tracking the behavior of your body in general. This can be of great help to your gynecologist because, as you know, often we can not exactly recall when something happened, especially a few months ago. Ovulation can be influenced by disease, stress, alcohol, drugs, and therefore it’s usually not reliable to count the days. As we said, ovulation occurs around mid-cycle of 12-16 days, with some women it last longer, and with others only a few hours. Some women are able to feel when they ovulate, often feeling the increased appetite or sexual desire. The surest method is the simple home urine test that shows whether a woman is fertile or not. DETERMINATION OF FERTILITY PER MONTH Some emphasize the high correlation between the moon and the menstrual cycle, so that women can anticipate ovulation by the moon. Moon phases of fertility can occur at any time, regardless of your menstrual cycle - before, during or after menstruation. Moon phase of fertility is calculated for each woman in particular, with regard of her time of birth. In that regard it may happen that some women have two fertile periods in one month.

Luteinizing hormone and ovulation

During mid-cycle LH (Luteinizing hormone) begins to rise sharply, and ovulation occurs about 36 hours after the beginning of its rise. LH causes the final maturation of oocytes and stimulates the synthesis of progesterone in the follicle. The first part of the cycle is the one just prior to ovulation, and is called the proliferative (proliferation means increase; and in that time follicles and hormonal levels grow, and also the thickness of the lining of the uterus). The first phase of the cycle is also called the follicular phase.
The second part of the cycle is called Luteal (the yellow body, corpus luteum) or secretory phase. In ovulation wall of leading follicle bursts, which by then is the size of 22-28 mm, and the ovum is expelled into the fallopian tube. If there are sperm in the fallopian tube, egg cells can be fertilized.
Some women recognize ovulation, as a sharp pain in lower abdomen (so called mittleschmerz) and sometimes by light bleeding that can occur. As in ovulation the follicle wall bursts, in rare cases it can burst out precisely where the blood vessels are located and thus cause bleeding. This causes more symptoms - the blood can collect in the abdomen, and the so called. peritoneal irritation appear (pain, vomiting), or in the ovary, which also causes pain due to the increase of ovaries. Most of these cases ends well, the bleeding stopps, and there is no need for medical intervention.

Different ways to predict ovulation

A lot of women may determine their ovulation just by learning their body and just how it modifications throughout the period.
In this post we will review several options for forecasting your fertile days.

Cervical mucus serves as a really important factor in conceiving.
As it changes during menstrual cycle, you can predict ovulation by continuously checking up on the actual regularity of your cervical mucous. Whether it is thick and yellowish, in that case it means that the body isn't still ready to conceive because ovulation has not happened. However, when the cervical mucous looks like
raw egg cell white, and it's also very slick as well as extends whenever you touch it along with 2 fingertips, it means that your your body is already at work and also you and your companion can get a positive outcome a minimum of 12 -
Twenty four hours after doing the deed.

Another option for predicting fertile days is applying ovulation packages. Ovulation kits determine the elevated degree of luteinizing hormone within pee. Luteinizing hormone is produced by the
brain and it causes fertility. These tests are more accurate as well as more reliable compared to body basal
temperature as well as ovulation can be predicted as much as 36 hours prior to.

Throughout ovulation basal body temperature rises by just zero point three to at least one degree C because of the
endocrine progesterone which purpose is to affect the rise of body temperature. This means that the actual fertile
time period begins 2 - Three times prior to rising the temperature and possibly remains at the time when it’s
increased. After ovulation, the body temperature continues to be higher until the next menstrual period in the event of
being pregnant. In determining ovulation with this technique, it is recommended that woman frequently monitor as well as write down the woman's basal temperature. After a couple of months of continuous measurements of the basal heat, you will be
in a position to predict the exact day of increased temperature, which is the time of ovulation
Basal temperatures are measured soon after getting out of bed each morning, underneath the tongue or in the anus,
following at least six - hours of tranquil sleep. It should be calculated every single day consistently. You ought to understand
how basal body temperature may be affected with: tranquilizers, resting tablets or stimulants.

Determining your ovulation

Determining you fertile days (days in which you can conceive) by the length of a cycle can be achieved with the so called ovulation calendar. With this simple calendar you can easily find out your fertile days just by entering when was your last cycle and how long does the usual cycle last for you.
For majority of women, ovulation happens roughly 14 days before the next menstrual period.
Obviously this can be of use only to women with regular menstrual cycles.
If you have regular menstrual cycles it will be much easier to determine the exact day of ovulation and fertile days. Lets explain this with an example - if your menstrual cycle is 28 days long, you are most likely to ovulate between the twelve and eighteen day of your cycle.

Those are the days while you're most fertile, so to speak.
With this said, we can determine that you have the highest chances to conceive in the period between the tenth and eighteenth day of a cycle.http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gif

If you wonder why the best period is 2 days before your ovulation days, it's for how long the sperm can survive – they say sperm life span is around 72 hours after ejaculation.
That's why we added 2 more days in front of the ovulation period so actually extend it and consequently improve your chances for conception.

But what if you don't have a regular menstrual cycle, or if you've been trying to conceive for some time now, without success? Luckily, with the advancement of technology, sophisticated devices can help women find out their ovulation. The least expensive are ovulation strips, but there are also ovulation predictor monitors with high success rates.
